On Tuesday, July 18th, Downtown Indianapolis, IN, became host to a spectacular outdoor greenspace designed with Indiana artificial grass from SYNLawn Indiana. Downtown Indy, Inc. is collaborating with Big Car Collaborative, the Capital Improvement Board, Lake City Bank, and other organizations from July through November to provide daily programming, games, live performances, and cultural events every Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and every Friday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Bring your friends and coworkers to the southwest corner of Monument Circle for an exciting and unique experience. Spark on the Circle will serve as a hub for Indianapolis arts and culture, free engagement opportunities, and community-building seven days a week.

The introduction of SPARK is a component of Mayor Joe Hogsett’s South Downtown Connectivity Vision Plan, which was unveiled in 2021 and serves as a roadmap for connectivity and public infrastructure developments in Downtown’s southern corridor. This helped to shape the decision to close the area completely to vehicles, along with community feedback on Monument Circle’s future from prior SPARK seasons on the inner curb lane in the southwest quadrant. The urban design firm Merritt Chase, SYNLawn Indiana, and the landscaping business Engledow Group all contribute to the incredible success of SPARK: On the Circle.
